Peter Andre returns to I’m A Celeb

Peter Andre has made an ”emotional” return to ‘I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!’ after first meeting ex-wife Katie Price on the ITV1 reality show in 2004.

Peter Andre has made an “emotional” return to ‘I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!’

The 38-year-old singer – who met ex-wife Katie Price when they both competed on the ITV1 show in 2004 – jetted in to the Australian city of Brisbane this morning (24.11.11) to work on ITV2 spin-off series ‘I’m A Celebrity . Get Me Out Of Here Now!’ and potentially take part in a Bushtucker Trial.

He said: “It’s been emotional to return here. I had some mixed feeling yesterday. I’ve been back to Australia since the jungle, but never back there.

“I’m on the ITV2 panel for three days, but I’m here for four days. They are not telling me what’s happening on the other day. They’ve blocked one day out and they’ve told me, ‘You’ll see what happens’. I don’t know what they’re doing.

“I’m looking forward to it, though. I wouldn’t mind going in there, as long as I’m not competing. I’d definitely drop in there for a day or two to have some fun.”

However, Peter has warned he won’t be finding love in the jungle this time around, and even if he wanted to, he couldn’t compete with 24-year-old hunk Mark Wright for the affections of Australian model Emily Scott.

He added: “The last time I came here single, I ended up walking out and getting married. This time I’m going to try and stay single.

“Mark is the younger generation. He’s a good-looking bloke and he’s probably 15 years younger than me. I can’t compete.”

Mark Wright ‘smitten’by Celeb newcomer Emily Scott

Swimwear model Emily Scott has arrived in the I’m A Celebrity jungle – and has already caught Mark Wright’s roving eye.

The blonde Australian has been sent in to the jungle in a bid to spice things up after hopes of a romance between Mark and The Real Hustle’s Jessica-Jane Clement were scuppered by news of her recent engagement.

And the move appears to be working – with the TOWIE romeo having already suggested a date once they are back in the real world.

He later said of her arrival, “I heard someone say ‘hello’ and I turned around and first I saw blonde hair, then I saw a treasure chest.”

Jessica-Jane – who had previously complained about the lack of younger people in the jungle this year – was also pleased to see Emily, later heralding the arrival of a new “playmate”.

And Pat Sharp quickly picked up on Mark’s flirtations, calling him a “little tinker” – and commenting on how fair Emily’s skin was. Mark jokingly responded that it “makes a change from an Essex girl”.

As a newcomer Emily was exempt from today’s Bushtucker trial – entitled Crude Awakenings – and instead viewers saw Corrie’s Anthony Cotton chosen to undertake the challenge in a bid to win meals for the camp.

Antony Cotton to tackle Bushtucker Trial Crude Awakening

Antony Cotton has been picked as the latest celebrity to tackle the next Bushtucker Trial.

The Coronation Street actor, who is claustrophobic, wasn’t too happy to hear that he’s to tackle a challenge called Crude Awakening – which includes being put in a pipeline filled to the brim with bugs and slime.

Antony will be trying his best to win as many stars out of a possible 12, after the two rival camps Snake Rock and Croc Creek joined together.

New arrival, Australian swimwear model Emily Scott, followed 80s legends Pat Sharp and Sinitta into the jungle, bumping the number of campmates up to a dozen.

After finding out that he was to tackle the next Bushtucker Trial, which will be shown on tomorrow night’s episode of I’m a Celeb, on STV at 9.30pm, all the campmates started to speculate exactly what Antony would face.

This will be his first Bushtucker Trial. On day one all of the celebrities took part in the group challenge Scales of Justice, then on day two Freddie Starr and Mark Wright were selected to take part in Greasy Spoon Café.

The third challenge was Creepy Crypt which Stefanie Powers and Mark were picked to tackle, Fatima Whitbread and Dougie Poynter took on Rat Run as the fourth challenge, and Sinitta gave tonight’s challenge, Cable Car-tastrophe.

Munchkin Dies At 93

One of the last surviving Munchkins from “The Wizard of Oz”, Karl Slover dies at 93. Standing at 4-foot-5, Slover was one of the tiniest male Munchkins, he died of cardiopulmonary arrest earlier this week in a Georgia hospital.

Slover was best known for playing the lead trumpeter in the Munchkins’ band but also had other roles; townsman and soldier.

ABC News has more: “Long after Slover retired, he continued to appear around the country at festivals and events related to the movie. He was one of seven Munchkins at the 2007 unveiling of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame dedicated to the little people in the movie. Only three remain of the 124 diminutive actors who played the beloved Munchkins.

“He has a genuine immortality,” Fricke said. “Of the 124 little people, he’s one of the handful who got to enjoy this latter-day fame, to have people know who he was and be able to pick him out of the crowd in the movie.” Slover is the first of the three trumpeters to herald the Munchkin mayor when he makes his entrance. Slover had been cast to play the second trumpeter but switched when another actor got stage fright during filming, said longtime friend Allen Pease, the co-founder of the former Munchkinland Market Days outside Chesterton, Ind. ”Karl didn’t know what stage fright meant,” he said.

Doctors Rule Freddie Starr Out Of Going Back In The Australian Jungle

Who isn’t excited by the Freddie Starr scandal unfolding on I’m A Celeb? Is he in or is he out? Does an allergic reaction really count as a scandal? What difference will it make to any of our lives?

Few people. He’s out, for good. No, it probably doesn’t. Very little. Those are the answers to your questions. If you wanted to know more about why Freddie Starr has left the jungle for good, then I’m afraid all we can say is that DOCTORS DID IT. Doctors forced him out, probably because, as any Daily Mail reader will tell you, he had a quadruple heart bypass and no-one with a quadruple heart bypass should eat camel. First year medical students know that.

‘I was sorry to hear the news about what the doctors had said – that I was allergic to something, to play it safe and best for me not to go back in,’ Starr added, ‘ITV’s got a duty of care and it’s only right that the doctors advise them to keep me away from the jungle. It may not happen again but we’ll never know.

‘They checked me over and couldn’t find anything wrong with me, but told the TV people it’s a risk and that I could be allergic to something in there – and that duty of care that ITV has, has to be respected.’

Don’t worry though, sadists, he’s been replaced with Pat Sharpe and Sinitta, who’ll both hopefully be swimming through half-digested tripe and mouldy sandwiches before you can shake a cat’s whisker.

Mark Wright promises to ‘strip off in jungle shower’ on I’m a Celebrity

Jessica Jane Clement has already set male viewers of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’s pulses racing, and now female fans of the ITV show are to get a treat of their own, as Mark Wright promises to go nude in the jungle shower.

Mark has already stripped to the waist to indulge in some male grooming.

TOWIE star Mark, who is believed to have left The Only Way Is Essex for good in order to take part in ITV1 series I’m a Celeb, admits he will be stripping off to get clean during his time on the show.

Asked by Closer magazine whether he will be showing off his toned body in the shower, Wright replied: ‘You can’t really shower in your clothes, so I guess I’ll have to!’

The Essex boy went on to describe the fitness regime that keeps his physique looking so perfect, admitting he’ll continue to exercise in the jungle.

‘I’ll do press-ups and sit-ups every day. I don’t want to do too hard because people might think I’m being a poser – but I do like to keep up with exercise. I may try to do it before everyone gets up!’

And discussing his ‘men’s needs’, Mark insisted he would be able to last the duration of his stay in the jungle without having sex, saying: ‘I think I can hold it out for a few weeks!’

Wright, who split up with ex Lauren Goodger earlier this year and more recently broke off a fling with TOWIE co-star Sam Faiers will find himself short on jungle totty since I’m a Celeb camp mate Jessica Jane Clement is happily engaged.

Model and presenter Clement said on entering the jungle: ‘My fiancé is from Essex so I’m sure I can have that same banter with Mark. I think I will be quite mumsy towards Mark, if anything. He is only young. ‘I don’t think there will be any flirting though.’

‘It Was The Right Time’

Whilst a lot of people are thinking that Mark Wright is crazy for leaving his cushy life on The Only Way Is Essex for the Australian outback for I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, the reality star has revealed that it was the right time for him to leave.

Talking about his decision to leave TOWIE in an interview with New magazine, the reality star said: “It was a very long and difficult decision for me. I got offered a lot of things before series two and series three of the show, but I stayed with it. I just think that now the time is right. I’ve given my everything, so the time is right for me to move on.”

Having had a bit of a bromance with James ‘Arg’ Argent during his time on the show, Mark revealed that his exit hit James the hardest.

Mark, who will face his second I’m A Celeb…bush tucker trial when the show returns tomorrow, said: “We used to do so many scenes together and there were no other scenes that we loved to do more than those scenes. We took each other through the bad times, and he’s really cut up about it.”

Despite leaving the cast behind, Mark had nothing but praise for the show, saying: “There are some amazing producers behind the show. And there’s an amazing cast.”

Freddie Starr’s Jungle Tummy Rumble

Posted 11/15/11 in News | 1 Comment | Write Comment

DESPITE having to make an unexpected sample of the Australian health service, Freddie Starr still seems set to impress in the jungle in ITV’s I’m A Celebrity …Get Me Out Of Here.

Paddy Power odds for the comedian are unchanged following today’s news that he has been taken to hospital as a precautionary measure after feeling a rumble in his jungle tummy.

He is one of four competitors now at 7/1 to win the crown, with Mark Wright leapfrogging Antony Cotton to lead the pack.

Paddy Power has now opened Top Male and Top Female, with Fatima Whitbread being the most fancied female.

Paddy Power said: “Freddie once ate a hamster -supposedly, so a little tummy trouble or allergy shouldn’t hold him back and we wish him a full recovery.

“Fatima was the talk of Twitter last night and we think she is the dark horse in this one. But, we also have one eye on Willie Carson.

“Jessica Jane Clements may be a favourite with the men, but she’s actually slipping in our betting. She started off at 14/1 and is now out to 18/1.”

Meanwhile, X Factor bosses will have something to smile about now that the show is still tipped to put in the best reality ratings of 2011. We have the show at 4/11 to have the biggest individual show rating, with I’m a Celeb not far behind at 5/2 with its strong season debut.

I’m a Celeb -Outright winner

5/2 Mark Wright 3/1 Antony Cotton 7/1 Willie Carson 7/1 Freddie Starr 7/1 Fatima Whitbread 7/1 Dougie Poynter 12/1 Lorraine Chase 18/1 Jessica Jane Clement 20/1 Chrissy Rock 40/1 Stefanie Powers

Australian ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ to return next year?

Posted 11/15/11 in News | 0 Comments | Write Comment

The Nine Network has reportedly renewed Celebrity Apprentice for another year.

The Australian television network, which premiered the star-studded version of the reality TV show last month, is reportedly very happy after the programme topped viewer ratings again on Wednesday night with Lisa Curry’s elimination.

Although Nine bosses have not confirmed the rumors, television insiders have predicted that a formal announcement of the return of the show in 2012 will take place at Nine’s programme schedule launch on November 23.

Media analyst Steve Allen told the Herald Sun that executives would be crazy not to continue the show, adding: “Celebrity Apprentice is a real asset to Nine.”

This series of Celebrity Apprentice, which is hosted by Yellow Brick Road boss Mark Bouris, still features stars such as Pauline Hanson, Jesinta Campbell, Julia Morris, Jason Coleman and Shane Crawford.

Earlier this week, celebrity agent Max Markson apologised to model and former teammate Didier Cohen after branding him “a self-confessed cocaine addict” shortly before they were both fired in the boardroom.
